Anastasia’s Ascot
Although many of our dresses went, regrettably few of us at the office managed to make it to Royal Ascot. Â Few of us, that is, save for GMD press officer Anastasia. Â Arming herself with camera and fascinator, Anastasia headed to the races….Here is our lovely A’s account of the day….
Fascinator: John Lewis – ‘it was almost a £650 Phillip Tracey number that had mistakenly been placed in the sale section!’
Dress: Moschino Cheap & Chic
Blazer: Zara
Shoes: Dolce & Gabbana
Where Anastasia Stood: Grandstand
What Anastasia Ate:
‘Not much as the afternoon tea mainly consisted of Champagne! Although there were amazing scones with clotted cream’.
The Biggest Faux-Pas Spotted:
The usual culprits! Too much flesh on show; too much fake tan.
Main trends spied: ‘An array…Colour blocking featured high on the agenda’.
Any GMD dresses spotted? ‘Someone on the train there going to Ascot was in the
‘Carrie’ Â Asymmetric Halston Heritage dress, which I know we stock, so you never know, it could have been from us!’
Event Drawbacks: ‘Mud on my white D&Gs- everyone was sinking!’
Event Perks: ‘It’s great to see Brits doing dressing for Ascot and the etiquette that surrounds it. It’s not often you get to see this kind of thing anywhere else, so I like that.’
