You rifle through your wardrobe, throwing aside that over-worn black pencil skirt and the beautiful, but uncomfortably tight, silk blouse. Nothing seems right for that crucial interview / client meeting that is rapidly approaching. But instead of deciding upon buying something new that will just end up in the section of your wardrobe called ‘Wore that last week, can’t wear it again’ – why not borrow a dress perfect for that one day, with the knowledge that you can swap it for something else next week and constantly rotate your wardrobe.
Shopping ‘guilt-free’ will mean that you can try styles and colours you don’t necessarily want to own forever.
‘Business casual’ needs to be an outfit you can look professional and authoritative in, whilst also being comfortable enough to suit the long hours at the office. Our ‘Workwear’ category offers this comfort, with styles including loose delicate silk dresses gathered in at the waist with a belt, you are also guaranteed to look classically chic.
Going to work shouldn’t mean leaving behind your personal style, there is no reason to wear dull clothes destined to make your day seem dull. Why not select a bright and bold dress such as the Tara Jarmon chartreuse dress in exotic yellow, or Diane Von Furstenberg’s emerald green whitley dress. Team them with a suit jacket when you need to sharpen up. Selecting a bright colour displays your assurance in your self, and your confidence, which is evoked to others around you.

Enter Meli Melo, or tangled hair as is the French translation.
Meli Melo bags are like the translation; delicate and feminine with a kooky and unique quality. Melissa del Bono describes her bags as “sculptural yet unstructured shapes’ while also being “sophisticated and feminie without being flashy and twee”.
What started out as simply a hobby for Italian-born Melissa Del Bono in order to satisfy her own needs and tastes, Melissa’s bags immediately gained a critical acclaim from the fashion industry appearing on the coveted pages of style bibles and Vogue and Harpers Bazaar have called them ‘must-haves”
Melissa’s inspiration is drawn from a pool of Anglo-Italian roots, international travel, and a passion for everyday life. These, combined with individual flair, an inbuilt knack for style, and a policy of using only premium Italian leather guarantees each bag bares charm, versatility, and character and all the other ingredients to satisfy every woman’s bag fetish.

London Fashion Week is the most important event in Britain’s fashion diary, for our esteemed designers, photographers and models. We were there with our rails of beautiful gowns and dresses and launched the first Girl Meets Dress 4-day POP UP BOUTIQUE.
For the first time, Girl Meets Dress was transformed from internet boutique to pop up boutique, allowing you the opportunity to try on as many fabulous dresses as you like, ensuring you find the perfect gown for your special event. Hundreds of women came along, tried on a dress, did a twirl, and found a piece they loved.
Over at the catwalk tent in Sommerset House, the new collections from the designers we stock such as Amanda Wakeley, Basso and Brooke, Matthew Williamson, Temperley and Vivienne Westwood were being shown, there is a style for every woman, and maybe a glimpse at what girlmeetsdress.com will have to offer for Spring/Summer 2010!
If you couldn’t make it, check out the photos below, and we’ll keep you posted about our next Pop-up Boutique!
