Designer Dress of the Week: Beau Tunic By LaDress

This week we are loving LaDress and their beautiful dresses made from the best quality fabrics from Paris and all over Europe.  Designed by Dutch fashionista Simone Von Trojen, her dresses are timeless and classic, tested and designed by Simone in order to create the perfect fit and feel of the dress.  In every colour of the rainbow and more, her dresses come in a variety of styles and fabrics such as silk, wool, jersey and cotton.

The Beau Tunic is stunningly bold with its all over floral print.  Made from satin silk, this dress can be worn in a variety of ways.  Team with ballerina shoes in the summer, black tights and shoes in the winter or heels for an evening out.  LaDress even suggest styling it over jeans with a belt to cinch you in at the waist complimented with heeled wedges.

Keira Tunic Dress by LaDress

With AW11 London Fashion Week behind us, now is the time to be working the SS11 trends.  This cobalt Keira tunic dress by LaDress is a great colour to work into your wardrobe to get ahead on the ‘brights’ trend.  That’s why it’s our Dress of the Week.

If you’re feeling brave you should look to Christopher Kane’s Ss11 collection for inspiration and pair this dress with fuchsia heels or a neon accessory.  The beauty of this blue is that, while it’s highly appropriate for working the SS11 trend for colour, it could easily be dressed down with muted accessories and a leather jacket.  The long sleeves make it perfect for this time of year – it’s fool-proof trans-seasonal dressing.

The sleeve is fabulously slouchy and 60’s-style so why not take the 60’s look one step further with a messy back-combed beehive?

If you don’t fancy a neon clutch, this Wilbur and Gussie Tinker purple silk clutch would work well with this dress as well.  The sapphire and garnet hues will make this look expensive and sleek.

The Keira Tunic dress by LaDress is £69 for 2 nights or £79 for 7 nights.  The Wilbur and Gussie Tinker clutch is £39 for 2/7 nights with any dress, £49 for 7 nights if borrowed alone, or £69 for a month if borrowed alone.

LaDress Sarah Tuxedo Dress

What with ‘colour’ being the hot ticket for SS11 we thought it only appropriate that we give you a head start on how to work the trend now.  That’s why this Sarah Tuxedo dress by LaDress is our dress of the week.

This gorgeous long-sleeved shirt dress is the perfect way to work the SS trend during winter weather.  It will look stunning with opaques, heels and a perfect manicure – go for coral or turquoise for nails that get you noticed!  As this dress is unique and certainly demure, it would be ideal for a winter wedding or a work function.

Plus the 50’s shape of the skirt is in-keeping with the Mad Men look which will surely carry over into next season’s sartorial aesthetic.  To ensure your look is fashion-forward though, why not channel Gucci and pair it with this Wilbur and Gussie clutch in shocking scarlet.  Clashing primary colours has never been so chic.

Sarah Tuxedo dress by LaDress is £89 for 2 nights or £99 for 7 nights.  The Wilbur and Gussie Harriet clutch is £39 with any dress hired, or hire it alone: £49 for 7 nights or £69 for a month.

Hello, Upper East Siders

After an inspiring trip to the Big Apple this month, and a somewhat desperate jealousy of the dresses donned by the cast of one of my favourite television programmes du jour, I thought it would be fitting to delve into the world of the Gossip Girl cast and indulge in some serious wardrobe envy.

Blair Waldorf is the quintissential Upper East Sider, with an impeccable turn out and clothes that are architecturally interesting, yet demure, and guaranteed to cost more than a Londoner’s monthly rent. Hers is the most exclusive of the bunch, with little high street mix and matching, but here are my hand-picked favourites that even Blair Waldorf would be excited to find in her wardrobe.

{L-R Leighton Meester as Blair Waldorf, Wool Jackie Dress by LaDress, Circle Dress by Roland Mouret, Metallic Jacquard Dress by Proenza Schouler, Fantasy Frill Dress by Marc Jacobs}

GMD’s stunning collection of dresses has something to suit every one of Blair’s moods, in her favourite designer choices, so if you feel like taking tea at the Ritz and acting as Queen Bee for the day, don’t hesitate – why not try all four?

Serena van der Woodsen’s style choices are all about fun and seduction – and anything that serves as an excuse to get those mile-long legs out! Despite her best friend Blair’s efforts to remain conservative and put together, Serena is a party girl at heart, and these dresses would be perfect for the part.

Why so sad, S? Is it because Girl Meets Dress customers can now access your favourite designers pieces and wear to their hearts content? We thought so.

And just in case you don’t fit into the Upper East Siders bracket, perhaps some inspiration from Brooklyn hipster Vanessa Abrams might be more up your street. Vanessa’s style is eclectic and full of colour – accesorise these pieces with some chunky bangles, a colourful tote bag, and maybe even a beanie hat, if the mood so takes you!

Why not make like the Gossip Girls and update your wardrobe for a night with these exciting pieces – get together with your girlfriends, pick a character and head out for some cocktails and a cheeky gossip.

xoxo.
