What to Wear to a White Tie?
White Tie is also known as full evening dress or informally as ‘tails‘. It is the most formal of dress codes, however post Second World War, it has decreased in popularity. There are several rules that a woman has to follow when attending and dressing for a white tie event:
- Full length evening gown and although not essential, it is traditional to show décolletage.
- Striking jewellery, with first time brides and married women wearing tiaras.
- Bags should be elegant and small.
- Gloves:
- Sleeveless dress or cap sleeve dress– long gloves
- Long sleeve dress – no gloves
- Coats:
- Smart evening coats
- Pashmina
